Summary

This project aims to enhance the x-ray interpretation competency of airport security screeners at Lugano Airport. To achieve this objective, individually adaptive computer-based training (X-Ray Tutor) is employed. Furthermore, all airport security screeners in Switzerland are required to undergo regular certification, as prescribed by the Federal Office of Civil Aviation (FOCA). Certification involves various x-ray image interpretation tests. Screening staff are required to successfully complete x-ray interpretation testing to be allowed to operate x-ray machinery. The project involves around 10 screening officers based at Lugano Airport

Project Objectives

This project seeks to provide screeners with optimal preparation for their certification examinations by using an adaptive training system and well-targeted consultancy involving mock tests.
