The First English-Taught Bachelor in Switzerland

Ten years ago the first Bachelor taught entirely in English in Switzerland was launched in Olten. International Management began with a mere 8 students. Today the regular intake is over 70 students annually.

This programme provided the basis for student mobility: over 120 contracts with partner universities around the world enable 150 of our students each year to go on an exchange and in return, we host over 100 students.

It also was the platform from which the 3 unique student seminars Insight China, Focus India and Networking New York (on-site business study trips managed by 3rd year students) were launched as well as several closer co-operations such as intensive exchange study weeks.

The success of this programme lead to the launch of Master programmes in English, spin-off projects like Business European Study Tours for USA undergraduates or Canadian Academics Study Europe and other universities adopting the same degree concept.

Ten years ago, as well, the BSc in Internationaol Business Management started. This unique programme is a cooperation between three universities (University of Applied Sciences in Basel, Baden-Württemberg Cooperative State University in Lörrach (D) and Université de Haute-Alsace in Colmar (F)) and subsequently taught in three languages at three different campuses.
