As a qualification, the MBA FHNW and the EBS MBA are recognised as being very prestigious awards available in business management. Having gained a prestigious MBA and/ or MBA degree has globally become a prerequisite for many senior managerial positions. Students and managers undertaking the dual degree programme of the University of Applied Sciences MBA and Edinburgh Business School MBA are training to become the generation of internationally oriented company chief executives.
The University of Applied Sciences, School of Business, and the Heriot-Watt University Edinburgh Business School (EBS) have reached a new stage in their longstanding partnership. As Collaborative Academic Partners they have designed new paths and tracks of intensified cooperation in the area of executive tuition and research.
EBS is one of the world's largest international business schools. Their active student number exceeds 9,000, and alumni numbers extend to more than 18,000. EBS has regionally focused directors based in Africa, Asia, Canada, the Middle East, the UK, the USA and South America. EBS has over 21 academic partners across the globe. EBS MBA students come from diverse backgrounds and from more than 150 countries. Many study in English. But EBS offers opportunities to study in other languages, such as Chinese, Spanish, Russian and Arabic.
The overall objective of the MBA FHNW / EBS MBA programme is to educate individuals as managers and business specialists and thus improve the quality of management as a profession. The MBA FHNW / EBS MBA adds value by developing an integrated and critically aware understanding of management and organisations in individuals and assists said individuals in taking effective roles within these organisations.
The dual degree programme enriches the learning experience by offering students the opportunity to study an elective within a specialist theme of cross-cultural leadership, which is further developed through an individual Master Thesis, which is research based and professionally relevant. The value added experience supports the fundamental objective of the MBA FHNW / EBS MBA programme as stated above and further enhances the abilities of individuals by developing their competence to apply research practice within a business environment.
It is possible to start the dual degree programme on the first day of March, June, September and December.
Next start: 1st June 2017
