Public Transport
There are international airports in Zurich, Geneva and Basel. The national rail network is dense and punctual.
Mostly regional transport companies provide transport within cities (bus and tram), between towns and villages, around and on lakes and of course up and down the mountains (cable cars, chair lifts, gondels etc). There are many special day trip tickets or seasonal tickets which include a variety of public transport possibilties available at train stations.
For those coming by car, remember that Swiss motorways require the purchase and display of a ticket (SFr 40, valid for one year).
