City of Brugg/Windisch
Brugg is a small city near the German border where three main Swiss rivers meet. Together with neighbouring Windisch, it has a rich history dating back to Roman times. Brugg still has a medieval character with winding, cobbled streets, numerous historic buildings and the renowned Black Tower which has been a prison since the 13th century.
Modern Brugg/Windisch is an important industrial hub with excellent rail and road networks. The two partner cities offer a full infrastructure of shops, cinemas, restaurants, pubs, sporting facilties and organisations.
The cities of Zürich and Basel can be reached within half an hour by train. Also of interest is the proximity to Baden where the Roman baths still service wellness customers two centuries later.
