Prof. Dr. Ruth Schmitt - Head of the competence center Governance Prof. Dr. Schmitt studied Business Administration at the University of Zurich and did her PhD with a focus on Stakeholder Management and Corporate Social Responsibility with a dissertation titled: "Dealing with an open stakeholder Society – An investigation into the Camisea case”. This research was done using a case study from the oil and gas industry to broach the issue of potential governance mechanisms in multistakeholder-situations. Additionally she did a postgraduate degree in Mediation at the University of Applied Sciences Northwestern Switzerland. Prof. Dr. Schmitt has been working in the insurance industry (Marketing and Professional Insurance) and works as consultant in the field of stakeholder dialogue. At the University of Applied Sciences Northwestern Switzerland she teaches undergraduate and postgraduate classes in Research Methods and Corporate Social Responsibility. |

Dr. sc. techn. ETH Michael Madjar Dr. Madjar studied mechanical engineering with a major in process engineering at the ETH Zurich. He did his PhD dissertation in the field of Risk & Safety Science at the ETH Zurich. After that he did a postgraduate degree in Applied Ethics at the University of Zurich and a degree in Mediation at the University of Applied Sciences Northwestern Switzerland. Dr. Madjar works for SGS as Lead Auditor for social-ethical norms in for-profit and non-profit companies (SA 8000 or BS-IV 2000) and for quality management (ISO 9001, ISO 14001), ecological efficiency analysis and risk analysis. Besides that he is also a research assistant at the Institute of Management, competence center Governance at the University of Applied Sciences Northwestern Switzerland. |

Michael Sitte studied Service Management at the University of Applied Sciences Harz in Germany and at Florida Gulf Coast University/USA with a major in Business Consulting. After graduation he worked as a research assistant for the vice-rector’s office and developed a new strategic alumni concept for the University of Applied Sciences Harz. From 2008 until 2010 he did a Master program in International Management at the University of Applied Sciences Northwestern Switzerland and at the Ashcroft International Business School in Cambridge/UK. He earned a Master of Science degree and started working as a research assistant and assistant to Prof. Dr. Ruth Schmitt at the Institute of Management in March 2010. |
