EMBA FHNW

The Executive Master of Business Administration (EMBA) is a two year extra-occupational Master degree offered by the Institute of Management. It imparts management knowledge from the most important business disciplines to executives, and it enables them to perform their function responsibly and successfully (Integral Management).

The EMBA is intended for university graduates of all degrees without previous economic education who have been working in their field for at least several years. They must also hold, or plan to hold a position as an executive or a manager.

The EMBA, which was first called Nachdiplomstudium Betriebswirtschaft (postgraduate degree in business), has been a popular degree from its inception in 1992. Today we are happy to provide four starting dates each year in both Basel (English/German) and in Brugg/Windisch (German only). In collaboration with our partner universities, we also offer the EMBA in Hanoi (Vietnam) and in Munich (Germany).

In addition, the University of Applied Sciences and Arts Northwestern Switzerland and the Edinburgh Business School at Heriot-Watt University (UK) have worked together to offer the EMBA FHNW / MBA EBS as a Dual Degree. This degree is organised in modules and taught in the English language. In contrast to the EMBA, it depends on self-study by the participants, while also including tutorials.
