IBM Students Study Week in Wales

       Cardiff

Nearly 20 International Business Management students attended a one-week study visit on Sociology, Media and Sports Management in Cardiff, Wales, in November 2011. During the so-called Cardiff Course, which was set up nearly 30 years ago to sensitise university students and athletes to local cultural issues, the semester 3 students from the tri-national Bachelor programme, had to gather material for a SWOT analysis. To faciltiate and support this assignment, they visited sports stadiums, attended sports events and were introduced to several typical sports of the region such as rugby and cricket. The students were also welcomed by both the Swiss ambassador to the United Kingdom, Anton Thalmann, and the Lord Mayor of Cardiff, Prof Delme Bowen.
