There are currently 20 members of staff at the institute: Professors, research fellows, research assistants, chief technician and secretary.

We support our customers in doing execution of research, development und consulting projects all the way to series-production readiness according to industry criteria. We care about the whole project cycle from system analysis and feasibility studies through specification, modeling, development, verification to realization. Upon agreement with the industry partners we publish the results in national and international journals.

We teach Bachelor students and Master students particularly in microelectronics and communications technology.

We educate engineers with workshops and Master of Advanced Studies (MAS).

The Institute of Microelectronics (IME) is member of SwissT.net, its section "Research & Education" and several technical sections.
