The IME deals with analog and digital signal processing especially for measurement in industrial applications, in communications and in medical technology. Special topics include

• Switched Capacitor circuit technology
• Sigma / Delta - converters
• Low-Power circuit technology
• Digital image processing

The IME uses Tools such as Matlab, Simulink and AdvanceMS and implements algorithms in ASICs (FPGA, Mixed-Signal-ASIC) or also in DSP
