Shape the future with the School of Engineering at the University of Applied Sciences (UAS)

The School of Engineering of the University of Applied Sciences Northwestern Switzerland is not only a practice-oriented educational centre for engineers, but also an important partner in applied research and development for industry and trade.

In the area of applied research and development, the School of Engineering collaborates with businesses and other tertiary institutions in Switzerland and in many other countries of the world.

The research projects of the School of Engineering focus mainly on the topic Energy and Resource Efficiency.  It is a great challenge and, in addition, a great chance as an engineering achievement to connect societal demands, economic growth and prosperity with global sustainability.

The competencies of our institutes encompass a wide spectrum: from Mechanical Design, to Energy and Information Systems and finally to Automation, Nanotechnology and Logistics.  Our successful technological research is characterised by the collaboration with several institutions. We maintain strategic partnerships with the Paul Scherrer Institute PSI, with many institutes of the Swiss Federal Institute of Technology Zürich (ETH) and the University of Basel.
