User Authorization

The library is primarily open to students, faculty and the staff of the School of Art and Design, but also to the interested general public. To borrow NEBIS, a valid holder card is required. Details about the use and lending (identification, lending procedures, library rules etc.) can be found in the PDF above.
 
Loan periods

The loan periods and external borrowing facilities are regulated as follows:

> Books: 28 days. Automatic renewal for a further 56 days if there are no reservations.

> Computer science books and large-format books with words «internal use for private study» or «use only (FHNW)»: 30 days. There is no automatic renewal. These books are intended for internal campus use only.

> DVDs, CD-ROMs, VHS videos: 7 days. There is no automatic renewal. Non-book materials are intended for internal campus use only.

> Magazines: 7 days. There is no automatic renewal. The magazines are intended for internal campus use only.

> Media in handsets: Borrowing from 1 night or weekend or after consultation with the lecturers. These media are intended for internal campus use only.

> Reference books, manuals: Use on site.

Period of notice

> Reminder / Recall: Free
> 1 Warning: CHF 10 -) per document (10 days after reminder)
> 2 Warning: CHF 20 - per document (10 days after 1st warning)
> 3 Warning: CHF 35 - per document (10 days after 2nd warning)
