Successful completion of the Master's program provides a qualification which enables graduates to design visual messages in their own office, in design and communication agencies or in the design industry. The conception of exhibitions and presentations in the context of design and art as well as in a commercial context requires knowledge and experience in the reading and aesthetic translation of communication goals. A competence in iconic criticism also qualifies a graduate for a journalism career at an art and design magazine. As the only Swiss Master’s program in design worth 120 ECTS credit points, this course of study is also a formal prerequisite for specialization in iconic or design research at the PhD level, as well as for teaching at a university for art and design.
