Where biology, medicine, natural sciences and engineering converge, the Schoolf of Life Sciences at the University of Applied Sciences North-western Switzerland FHNW offers promising future-oriented further education and conducts application-oriented research.

Staff and students

At present, there are approx. 150 lecturers and staff in the four institutes at the university and around 500 students in a Bachelor or Master programme or studying toward an MAS in environmental technology and management.

Fields of research and projects

Nationally and internationally, we position ourselves in selected competencies and focal points. We understand our assignment to be in implementing and developing products and production processes that promote health in the broadest sense and serve to achieve sustainable production in the field of Life Sciences. We promote an interdisciplinary approach, cooperating in networks and we measure ourselves against international standards.
