Preoperative planning models

Segmentation of medical image data — Rapid prototyping

We can draw on more than 10 years of experience in the segmentation of medical image data and the fabrication of planning models.

preoperative planning models

According to your needs and wishes, models can be made for the preoperative planning of all types of surgical interventions by means of rapid prototyping. The materials used have a yellowish transparent appearance, which is familiar because of its use in stereolithographic models for more than twenty years. The advantage of this colouration is that the thickness of existing osseous structures can be vaguely perceived due to a different colour appearance.

According to your desires and after prior agreement, other colours and materials are available. To represent soft parts, rubbery materials can also be used. We can offer support in obtaining approval for reimbursement of costs from the health insurance companies. Similarly, in cases involving greater and regular need of similar model dimensions, it is possible to agree on package deals in order to be able to keep the administrative effort in the preoperative planning as low as possible.

The patient data can be transmitted by mail or FTP:

Available model material:

  • Acrylic resin; ETO - serilizable, yellowish transparent
  • Acrylic resin; ETO - serilizable, white
  • Acrylic resin; ETO - serilizable, blue
  • Plaster-like, white material; colour textures possible
