UAS Northwestern Switzerland FHNW

Since January 1st, 2006, universities of applied sciences of four cantons (Basel-Stadt, Basel-Land, Aargau and Solothurn) merged to become one of the largest UAS in Switzerland: the University of Applied Sciences Northwestern Switzerland. This state-accredited university still fulfils tasks in the four areas of undergraduate education, further education, consulting and applied research and development, but can now offer a greatly enhanced infrastructure, choice of programmes and facilities. There are currently nine schools: Applied Psychology; Architecture, Art and Design; Business; Civil Engineering and Geomatics; Conservatoire; Engineering; Life Sciences; Pedagogy and Social Work, each of which operates in 3-12 institutes. Some 8 000 undergraduate students are currently enrolled over four campuses.
