Public Transport
Basel has an excellent, closely linked public transport network.
Train
Basel has three main railway stations: the SBB station and the border train stations Badischer Bahnhof (near the Laboratories) and French railway station (integrated with the Basel SBB railway station). There are numerous and fast connections to both Swiss and international cities. The rail networks in Germany and France can accessed via the border stations.
Muttenz station is a 5 minute walk away from the Muttenz campus and connected to the main station Basel SBB by 4 trains per hour (a 5 minute journey).
Tram and Bus
Within the city limits, it is best to use the tram and bus network. There are also excellent regional bus services (especially the "yellow" postal buses). Timetables can be accessed via the Swiss railway platform.
Airport
Basel’s international airport, Euroairport, is actually on French territory and serves all three bordering countries with the three passport controls. Therefore, within the airport complex, you might find yourself crossing borders several times! From here, mostly European cities are serviced, often by smaller or economy airlines such as Easyjet.
Boat
There are ferry services across and on the Rhine.
