Profile of Hannes Lubich
Dr. Hannes Lubich has worked in the areas of operating systems, network
technologies, computer-supported cooperative work, security management and IT
architecture for 20 years. For 10 years he was a researcher and senior lecturer
at the Swiss Federal Institute of Technology, and was responsible for creating
and running the Swiss Academic and Research Network (SWITCH), as well as the
Swiss Computer Emergency Response Team (CERT). For 7 years he was the Chief IT
Security Officer (CISO) of Julius Baer Group, a large, Swiss-based international
private bank. For 4 years he worked for CA Inc. as a Principal Consultant and IT
Security Strategist for the region Central Europe. From mid 2007 to January
2009, he was the E*MEA Head of the Business Continuity, Security and Governance
(BCSG) Practice of British Telecom Global Services.
Since April 2009, he is a professor of computer
science, specialising in ICT System and Service Management and works in the
mobile and distributed systems lab of the University of Applied Sciences
Northwestern Switzerland in Brugg-Windisch.
He is an alumnus of IMD in Lausanne and the Wharton School of Management in
Philadelphia, and continues to lecture part-time at ETH Zurich. Besides that, he
acts as an advisor/consultant, and sits on the board of Ad Vantis Innovation AG.
