Bio: Simone Grebner received her Ph.D. in Psychology of Work from the University of Bern (Switzerland) in 2002 (Focus: Occupational Health Psychology). She previously held an appointment at the University of Munich (Germany) and the Federal Institute of Technology (Zurich, Switzerland). She held a research and teaching position at the University of Bern (Switzerland) from 1995 until 2007 and at Central Michigan University (MI, USA) from 2007 until 2009, engaging in I/O-Psychology and (Occupational) Health Psychology. She participated in the postgraduate program "Stress, and Emotions at Work, and in Social Relationships (1998 - 2002, Universities of Bern, Geneva, Fribourg and Neuchâtel) and the postgraduate program "Collegiate Education" (2003 -2008, University of Bern). She was appointed as a visiting professor at the University of Fribourg (Switzerland) in 2003, 2004, 2007, and 2009. In 2008 she got a job offer by the University of Canterbury (New Zealand). Simone Grebner joined the MikS (Institute Humans in Complex Systems) faculty at the School of Applied Psychology (APS), University of Applied Sciences Northwestern Switzerland in August 2009 as Professor of Applied Psychology.

Expertise: Simone Grebner is an authority on occupational stress and success experiences; stressors in the workplace and their effects on well-being, health, and performance; work-related conditions and behaviors that promote/hamper recovery; coping with stressors; evaluation of stress and self-management trainings, and physiological stress responses and methods. She does research and consulting with organizations on ways for employees and managers to improve well-being, health, and performance (e.g., survey feedback, job analysis, job design, organization development, expert and process consultation, seminars, workshops, trainings e.g., communication, conflict management, stress management, motivation). Her specific current research interests include the nature and effects of subjective success experiences for the employee (success-resource model of job stress, Grebner et al., 2010), health-promoting leader behaviors, doping at work and economic costs of job stress (European Working Conditions Survey 2010 - Switzerland).
