Pieter Perrett ist seit 2001 als Dozent für Kommunikation an der Fachhochschule Nordwestschweiz, Hochschule für Wirtschaft tätig.

Pieter Perretts Forschungsinteressen liegen in der Kommunikation in KMU und von Non-Profit Organisationen.
