Studying at FHNW School of Social Work
We stand for “Social Innovation”
The FHNW School of Social Work specialises in analysing and fostering “social innovation” through interrelating scientific and experience-based knowledge in cooperative processes. We critically reflect on the knowledge that comes from experience, and harness it to building new knowledge capable of guiding action.
In our endeavour to fulfil our fourfold remit, we link the development of knowledge to its successful transfer into practice in several focus areas:
- Consulting, Coaching and Social Management
- Education Research and Professionalisation
- Integration and Participation
- Child and Youth Services
- Social Work Research and Cooperative Knowledge Creation
- Social Work and Health
- Social Planning and Urban Development
Our students benefit from individual guidance and close supervision. We actively promote the development of alumni networks, purposefully cultivate client relationships, and undertake disciplinary and interdisciplinary, national and international cooperation projects.
