With the Catvap-Burner, combustion of the evaporated fuel is done on a surface similar to a gas burner. Compared to the combustion of sprayed fuel, which takes place at approx. 1´300°C, the flame temperature is reduced to approx. 1´000°C by flame cooling at the combustion surface => lower NOx emissions.
The separation of evaporation and combustion allows the realization of premixed combustion which leads to reduced NOx emissions.
Capacities as low as 3 kW can be realized. With the present standard burners using spray nozzles, the minimum capacity is approx. 15 kW. Output of the Catvap-Burner can be modulated in a wide range leading to reduced number of start/stops and lower emissions of unburned hydrocarbons.
