Leveraging molecular glues in plants: Harnessing brassinosteroid signaling for a resilient and sustainable agriculture.

Molecular glues are molecules that promote and stabilize protein-protein interactions in biological systems. These have gained attention recently in biomedicine, as they suppose a new approach to modulate therapeutic targets. However, plants have a wealth of examples of these mechanisms of action. Such is the case of brassinosteroids (BRs), a plant phytohormone that controls growth and development, and importantly, can provide abiotic stress tolerance. At the ICB, we aim to design and develop a peptide-based molecular glue that triggers BR signaling cascade and can serve as a tool for a resilient and sustainable agriculture.
