Raman spectroscopy depends on light induced vibrational motions of molecular bonds in different materials, among them tissue. The Raman spectrum can potentially be used to classify different tumor grades. In neurosurgery there is a demand for tools to better identify the tumor borders and low grade tumors. In this talk, we will explore the potential of Raman spectroscopy to meet this demand.
