Aline Veillat was born in the Réunion Island, Indian Ocean, and grew up till my last teenage years in Rabat in Morocco. Later she lived in Paris and Lausanne and since many years she works as independent artist researcher and lives in Basel.

She works as well part time for the Institute of Practice and Theory in Aesthetic from FHNW and she is associate researcher at IMéRA Foundation for Advanced Studies in Marseille. She holds MA and PhD degrees in Aesthetic, Sciences and Technologies of Arts from Paris 8 University, and Post-Diploma in Digital Media from ECAL Lausanne Art School.

Lead Dr. Yvonne Volkart, founded by Swiss National Science Foundation research project - Implication of technologies in artistic practice dealing with ecological issues.

• Main dans la main, les pieds dans l’eau, culture and memories of flood, Mulhouse Research Centre for Economies, Societies, Arts and Techniques, in association with Kunsthalle Mulhouse (FR) - new media artistic creation combining industrial weaving machine and rivers.

2016 - in progress

• Thinking from the bottom up, when the soil yields its secrets, Aix-Marseille Mediterranean Institute of Marine and Terrestrial Biodiversity and Ecology (FR). - mix-media artistic research project - collaboration with living organisms. (personal project) - Include participation to European research project Daghmous in south Morocco in 2020-21 with as partners University Hassan II of Casablanca (MA), LSTM IRD Montpellier and IMéRA AMU (FR).
