University of Applied Sciences for Public Administration, Kehl/ Germany
The topic of business development (cantonal, regional and transregional) is gaining in importance in connection with the implementation of the New Regional Policy (NRP). Cantonal programmes in particular aim to support businesses with consulting offers and competence centres as well as with the financing of innovation.
The Institute for Nonprofit and Public Management is working with the University of Applied Sciences for Public Administration in Kehl in the context of an Interreg Project (IV A) to develop a continuing education offer and a competence and research centre on the subject of management of clusters and networks. The primary aim is to develop and promote research and expertise in the field of cluster and network management for regional and transregional business development.

Art market dynamics: We are collaborating with the University of Bayreuth, Chair of Economic Geography to initiate a range of activities resulting from basic research on generating value in the art market. These include the organisation of sessions at relevant conferences, contributions to workshops and the development of research applications. This will provide a new perspective on economic value creation.

Valuation driven cluster development: Cluster development is being studied on the basis of evaluation processes derived from surveys conducted in Vogtland, Germany (the manufacture of musical instruments). This will lead to a complementary perspective on research on clusters (Michael Porter, Harvard University) and their development. KIT Karlsruhe
