The Competence Center acts as an incubator for blockchain innovations and investigates the implications of blockchain and distributed ledger technologies in a business context.
We are academic partners for managers, as well as technology and industry experts aiming to share knowledge and best practices. Our industry focus is on the life sciences and health care industries with a specific attention to supply chains, logistics, and ‘Industry 4.0’.
Building on three strands, our research encompasses the areas Governance, Application and Education.
Governance
- Foster understanding for the impact of blockchain and distributed ledger technology on business strategy
- Identify best practices to embrace uncertainty and remediate risks
- Valuation of assurance reference models for evidence-based decision-making and continuous improvement
Application
- Analyse blockchain characteristics and their value creation potential for a wide variety of application fields
- Develop prototypes to evaluate blockchain concepts and assess applicability and integration capabilities
- Invest − as a special focus − in capacities of blockchain toempower cybersecurity and data privacy
Education
- Develop trainings and educate students and executives
- Develop a holistic understanding of the architecture and commercial implications of blockchain
- Advice and train methods for the development of business strategies with blockchain (roadmap)
- Build a network of blockchain experts, industry experts and entrepreneurial talents
- Provide new research impulses
The Blockchain Competence Center aims to gather and build solutions via the Blockchain ecosystem. We focus on practicality when conducting blockchain-related R&D, training, workshops, and support.
