The Institute Digital Communication Environments (IDCE) of the HGK Basel is offering an online information event on the International Master of Design in Graphic Design offered jointly with the University of Illinois at Chicago on Wednesday April 16, 2025, at 5 pm.

The International Master of Design (MDes) in Graphic Design is open to students who have completed a Bachelor's degree in graphic design, visual communication, communication design, media design or a comparable degree programme.

The four-semester programme is a collaboration between two outstanding research institutions, the University of Illinois at Chicago and the FHNW Academy of Art and Design Basel. Successful completion of this programme leads to a double degree.

The programme offered in Basel focuses in particular on the pedagogy developed in ‘Swiss Graphic Design’. This process-orientated approach teaches students the ability to create visual messages with a reflective but individual design vocabulary that takes into account the particularities of cultural settings and the complexity of today's world.
