Computer Aided Surgery
Supporting surgical procedures with computer-based planning, simulation, navigation and instruments.
Fusing information technology with surgical knowledge and methodology enables the development of new methods which meet the highest quality requirements and reduce long term costs.
Our research focuses on computer-aided planning, modelling and simulation of implants and surgical procedures (including deep brain stimulation), navigation-based procedures and mechatronic support systems. In these fields, miniaturization, sensor technology and image processing are essential for solving surgical problems and optimizing intervention planning.
