What to expect:

The module «Teamwork – Working Together Efficiently» provides a basic understanding of interdisciplinary collaboration in different teams in academia or in the working world. You will learn essential concepts and theories that explain how and why people can work together effectively and efficiently in professional contexts. In doing so, we draw on the university’s future fields of «New Work» and «Future Health». The focus is on analysing both individual and group dynamic processes. By combining theory with practical tools, methods and your own experience, you will be empowered to improve your self-organisation and team organisation in a targeted manner. This includes techniques for collaboration, project management, reflection and feedback culture in order to operate successfully in complex and dynamic environments. The aim is to prepare you to use teamwork optimally as a reflective and responsible actor based on a case study. The module is part of the university’s ChallengeEU project, in which students from nine European universities are invited to participate.

In this module, you will immerse yourself in the exciting world of teamwork. You will learn how groups are formed, what makes them successful and how you can actively contribute to this. We will show you how to plan and manage projects professionally – with methods that you can apply directly in practice. An online learning platform will support you in this.

Since teams today are often diverse, you will learn how diversity can be a strength and how you can use differences constructively. You will also explore emotions and job satisfaction and how you yourself can influence collaboration.

Of course, teamwork doesn’t always run smoothly! That’s why you practise recognising problems early on and resolving conflicts confidently. You learn how to give feedback that really helps and how to benefit from it yourself. Finally, you reflect on your own role and the dynamics within the team so that you can develop personally and be successful together with others.

All these team skills will be applied and practised in the development of a case study.
