After the first boom where there were a lot of cinemas everywhere, the count slowly started decreasing. Especially in the bigger cities the amount of cinemas went down. But that does not mean there are less possibility to watch the newest blockbusters…

The singe room cinemas got displaced by the brands which host multiplex cinemas (which means 8 Screens or more). Specially in the cities, the one room cinemas started disappearing and got replaced. With that movement the appearance of cinemas got more than halved. But what does it mean for the prices?

Even though there are now way fewer parties which are able to determine the price of a ticket, the prices did not make huge jumps considering the inflation. Nonetheless the price doubled in the last 45 years looking at the average price over all of Switzerland.

Not every month is the same for cinemas. A lot of people only go to the cinemas for movies which are expected to be blockbusters. Due to that one can easily see, that the cinamas have a lot more traffic when these movies have their launch date.
