05/2025: Research on watermarks
Watermarks. The three half moons (Tre lune) distinguish the paper produced in Veneto.From 12 to 14 May, Agnese and Cristina traveled to Italy to take a closer look at two manuscripts of Tartini’s Regole per ben suonare il violino, held at the Conservatorio Vecchi Tonelli in Modena and the Conservatorio Arrigo Pedrollo in Vicenza. Their focus was on watermarks and handwriting, comparing these features with other manuscripts by Tartini’s pupils. In the following days, Agnese continued her research on related sources in Vicenza (Biblioteca Civica Bertoliana) and Bassano del Grappa (Biblioteca Civica). She also examined the watermarks of the two copies of Regole preserved in Venice at the Biblioteca Nazionale Marciana and the Fondazione Ugo e Olga Levi.Agnese Pavanello, Cristina Cassia and Stefano Lorenzetti, Director of the “A.
