Profil von Michael Jeive



Professor Michael Jeive was born in London and studied History and Politics at Oxford Brookes University and Applied Linguistics the University of Manchester. After graduation, he worked in London negotiating international supply contracts with clients in China, Russia, Southern Africa and Europe before taking on responsibility for PR for an NGO and in the private sector. Michael moved to Switzerland in 1994 and between 1994 and 2005 worked as a communications coach and consultant for organisations including Credit Suisse, UBS, Bank Julius Bär, Winterthur Insurance, the Swiss Takeover Board as well as lecturing at a private business school.

Michael joined the University of Applied Sciences Northwestern Switzerland in 2003 on a part-time basis before taking a full-time position in 2005. Michael lectures in International Political Economy Studies and Communication Across Cultures with a focus on International Negotiations.

Michael Jeive has a strong interest in China, travelling there annually since 2007 and supervising the university’s Insight China Programme since 2009. Since 2008, Michael has also served as visiting lecturer in International Business Issues at the Hogeschool Utrecht, Universidad de León and will lecture at the Banking University Ho Chi Minh City in 2011.

Beyond his teaching and research, Professor Jeive's recent consultancy and training clients include the Swiss State Secretariat for Economic Affairs (SECO), FIFA, UBS, Helvetia Insurance and the Canton of the City of Basel.
