Profil von Stella Gatziu Grivas
Stella Gatziu Grivas received her PhD from the University of Zurich in the area of active databases under the supervision of Prof. Dr. Klaus Dittrich. Her work in the project SAMOS focused on an extensive event language and on a mechanism for complex event detection. SAMOS was one of the first open source active database systems offering complex event processing. After the completion of her PhD, Stella stayed at the Group of Klaus Dittrich as a senior assistant. She worked on a framework for constructing active mechanisms unbundled from the database system. She also initiated the work in data warehousing with focus on the incremental refreshment of a data warehouse and workflow management.
After that Stella moved to Credit Suisse as a senior consultant for IT Strategy. She gained practical experience on technology management and on how to bring technology innovation in a company.
Since August 2007 is a full professor at the institute of information systems at the University of Applied Sciences Northwestern of Switzerland and the head of the Competence Center Cloud Computing.
Stella's current research interests are in the area of cloud computing, digitalisation and trasnformation. More information on current projects and activities on the project list of the competence center.
