If you have registered but are unable to attend due to paid work, work placements or personal reasons, you can still withdraw from Exploration Week FHNW by emailing explorationweek@fhnw.ch by 12 June 2026. After that, the module will be considered unfulfilled.

Withdrawal without valid reason

The standard withdrawal deadline expired on 12 June 2026. If you nevertheless do not attend a module or are absent during Exploration Week, please inform the relevant lecturers. In this case, the module will be marked as ‘not completed’. This does not usually result in any further consequences; in particular, the module that has not been passed will not be listed on your Transcript of Records.

Withdrawal for valid reasons

Withdrawal is still possible after the deadline has passed if there is a valid reason. These include, for example, illness, accident, family obligations that cannot be delegated, force majeure or comparable circumstances. It is generally not possible to make up for the missed attendance sessions in any other way. If you wish to claim such a reason, please contact the relevant lecturer directly and submit an application to withdraw for valid reasons. The application must be accompanied by appropriate evidence or supporting documentation.

Your placement was made by the Exploration Week FHNW team and entered into the system by the administration. Following this process, your module will be visible under My Studies. This may take a while. As long as you have received our confirmation email regarding your registration, you can assume that you are registered and do not need to take any further action.

You can find the locations of the various modules on the Modules page in the module description. The room for the module is visible under My Studies. Before Exploration Week, we will send the final programme, including the locations of the events, to all participants.

The modules offered as part of Exploration Week are part of the curriculum, and all participants who successfully complete the modules will be awarded the corresponding ECTS credits. The head of your degree programme is responsible for ensuring that the ECTS credits earned during Exploration Week are recognised as part of your degree programme.

The invitation to the kick-off event will be sent by email either by the Exploration Week FHNW team or by the module coordinators. It will contain all the key details and information you need to prepare for the event.

During the assignment process, we tried to accommodate as many requests as possible. However, it may be the case that we saw your request but were unable to fulfil it. We have taken care to include as many different degree programmes as possible in the modules, whilst also taking as many priorities as possible into account. Thank you for your understanding.
