HPC Research Infrastructure for Industry and Academia
A sandbox for future computing ideas
The FHNW HPC Lab provides an experimental platform for research projects in future computing. It can support a wide range of topics, from accelerator hardware to cloud services. Example research topics include:
- High-throughput computing (HTC) for live processing of massive amounts of data from lidar sources.
- Design and operation of ESA Euclid’s space mission ground segment computing platform.
- Quantization and distillation of large language models (LLM), specifically Apertus.
- Development and technology evaluation of dataflow computing accelerators.
- System-level simulations for novel accelerators design, such as analog in-memory computing (AIMC).
- Technology evaluation for low-energy accelerators (neural processing units, NPUs) for high-throughput processing from particle accelerators.
We are open for collaborations with industry and academia. If you are interested in a joint research project, please contact Tomasz Kacprzak and Simon Marcin.
