09/2025: MerMEId Workshop in Triest

On 13–14 September 2025, Agnese, together with some members of the teams from Graz and Augsburg, attended the MerMEId workshop organized by the Conservatory of Trieste in collaboration with the Centro di studi tartiniani, currently directed by Professor Giulio D’Angelo, of whose scientific committee Agnese is a member.
The two-day event offered a rich mix of presentations, discussions, and hands-on sessions, providing an ideal setting to reconnect with fellow researchers and explore the latest developments in digital music cataloguing. Agnese, together with Cristina, Berthold, and Elisabetta, discovered new updates on thematic catalogues powered by MerMEId and gained insights into cutting-edge digital humanities projects from Oxford, Vienna, Bergen, Paderborn, and Mainz. One highlight was Berthold Over’s presentation on the Telemann catalogue, showcasing recent innovations and practical implementations.

The Mainz team (Kristina Richts-Matthaei, Carlo Licciulli, Academy of Sciences and Literature, Mainz), responsible for developing MerMEId, introduced the new editor and explained how modern technologies are being used to make it more flexible, interoperable, and aligned with current technical standards—making tasks like XML export much smoother. Participants then got the chance to try out the editor in a hands-on workshop, exploring its current capabilities firsthand.
Overall, the workshop proved to be an inspiring and highly practical experience. It not only paved the way for the future implementation of Giuseppe Tartini’s catalogue on www.discover.tartini.eu, but also offered a valuable overview of important digital humanities initiatives, fostering exchange, collaboration, and ideas for further research.
