Medical Image Processing

Human body image data processing for clinical purposes.

Medical image processing, the analysis and visualisation of medical image data, uses mathematical and algorithmic principles to obtain qualitative and quantitative information from scan data.

Practical examples of our research include fully automated image segmentation of the knee joint using statistical models, acquisition and visualisation of liver vascular trees, measurement and classification of anatomical structures (cerebellum, nucleus dentatus) as well as the tracking of bacterial populations in image sequences.
