Web Engineering
Graduates of the Web Engineering major can build secure and scalable web applications with high-quality user interfaces. To do so, they will get to know current technologies, standards and concepts with which they can implement a sophisticated design in engineering quality.
Web Engineering is a specialisation in the Bachelor of Science in Computer Science degree programme.
The frontend is all about implementing sophisticated design with engineering quality in order to offer the user a stable, sustainable and pleasant interface that corresponds to his current viewing and usage habits. The back end must allow secure and scalable data storage as well as efficient and flexible communication.
Frontend and backend together form a distributed system, whose appropriate design and correct implementation require basic knowledge of architecture, technologies, programming languages, tools and development methodology.
The Web Engineering specialization summarizes all these aspects, deepens the basics and concludes with a workshop in which students demonstrate their acquired knowledge and skills.
