Surface functionalization

We use different types of chemical modification of polymer surfaces and coating technologies to achieve tailored properties.

The focus is on wettability, interfaces, adhesion and (bio-)functional coatings:

  • Pretreatment of polymer surfaces (plasma, electron beam irradiation, corona)
  • Tailor-made wettability of polymer surfaces
  • Grafting of functional polymers, especially by electron beam irradiation
  • UV-curable functional coatings
  • Plasma polymerization of functional coatings
  • New materials with surface-modified fillers
