Bachelor

More Details in German

Our Bachelor in Life Sciences degree programme has an interdisciplinary focus from day one. From chemistry, physics and biology through to medicine and computer sciences, students learn to observe things from the perspective of different fields of study and to find innovative solutions. The first year of study is based on fundamental scientific and engineering principles. Students’ chosen courses then form the focus of the following semesters.

Practice-based studies

Students spend a large portion of their studies working on projects with partner companies. The Bachelor’s thesis also has a practical focus and forms the final stage of their degree. Students complete their thesis with an industry partner, at the university itself or at an external research institute in Switzerland or abroad.

In addition to the timetable, students can take part in events looking at current research topics, giving them the opportunity to network with company representatives. What is more, many members of the teaching staff at the FHNW School of Life Sciences work in industry.
