Monitoring land change with satellite time series

Satellite observations have long been used for mapping changes on the land surface, for instance for forestry, flooding and agriculture. These capabilities have, however, greatly improved in recent years with the launch of new high spatial-resolution satellites and the availability of high-performance analysis platforms. In this presentation, I will show examples of how time series statistics are used for mapping and interpreting gradual and abrupt changes.
