SLAS 2023 Data Sciences and AI Symposium

Scientific Program – Data Sciences and AI 2023

The SLAS 2023 Data Sciences and AI Symposium co-hosted with the FHNW School of Life Sciences will showcase the latest developments in AI/ML, Next Generation Sequencing (NGS), OMICs technologies and data pipelines in pharma, biotech and medical industries.
Attendees will hear from leading experts about the role of data pipelines in drug discovery research, how clinics exploit data science to advance patient care or how multilevel data can power precision medicine.
Register now to enhance your knowledge and make new connections within the Swiss life science community.
Are you interested in sharing your work or research on data science in life sciences? Submit a poster or podium abstract via the SLAS registration page. Abstracts are encouraged from students, graduate students, post-docs and junior faculty as well as from professionals in academia and industry alike.

Submit your podium or poster abstract for consideration

Session 1
Data pipelines in drug discovery research, Chair: Steven van Helden, Ph.D. (Pivot Park Screening Centre)
This session explores how data flows from instruments capturing raw data to data mining applications where data is translated into meaningful results.

Session 2
Data Science in Clinics, Chair: Abdullah Kahraman, Ph.D. (FHNW University of Applied Sciences and Arts Northwestern Switzerland)
This session showcases how data science drives precision medicine in hospitals.

Session 3
Omics detection of Biomarkers, Chair: Kalyani Gampa, M.S. (Novartis)
This session will provide information on how Next Generation Sequencing and proteomics platforms help establish gene signatures and pharmacodynamic markers in disease relevant context.

Session 4
The Influence of ML and AI, Chair: Joshua Kangas
This session will explore current applications of machine learning and AI for experimental design and direction as well as the application of predictive modeling for a variety of applications.
