Overview The Cambridge Certificate of Proficiency in English (CPE) is the highest-level language certificate available to foreign speakers of English and is recognized by universities and employers world-wide. The examination is
at the C2 level (CEFR).

  • language development across the four skills (speaking, listening, reading, writing), with special regard to vocabulary and grammar, and to the use of register (formal/colloquial).
  • introduction to examination format (written exams and oral)
  • explanation, analysis and practice of relevant tasks
  • acquisition of specific examination skills and techniques.
  • Learning objectives Language aims:


      Upon successful completion of the module, participants will have:

    • developed their language skills in line with the requirements of the examination to a level appropriate to their stage of preparation
    • a thorough knowledge of the examination format
    • understood, reflected on, and practised all of the exercises involved
    • acquired the requisite examination skills and techniques
    Previous knowledge Successful completion of module ten2 or a suitable level achieved in the incoming placement test (CEFR C1/C2).
    Exam format Continuous assessment grade, weighting 100 %
    Additional information Textbooks will be required.
