This intermediate/upper-intermediate course comprises two lessons per week and is a continuation of work begun in the first two semesters.

To develop general English ability, with emphasis on speaking an structural competence.

The course is based upon the book "Innovations" and follows a grammatical/lexical syllabus. While emphasis is placed on the speaking skill, complementary skills such as reading and listening are also developed, as, to a lesser extent, is writing. The course encourages cultural awareness in that students are offered the option of attending different electives focusing upon particular aspects of Anglo-Saxon culture.

The course book "Innovations" and its accompanying workbook.

Group, pair, lockstep and individual activities.

One grammar based test, and one dossier reflecting the content of the elective module chosen.
