- - to take EFL skills to an advanced level of Business English competence - to focus on content-based learning, i.e. Business English development by means of practising business situations on a managerial level - to develop refined skills in concise information and argumentation in the foreign language all based on the 4 main skills: Oral Expression Aural Comprehension Reading Comprehension Written Expression with a special focus on: 'summarizing/reporting' (WS) und 'commenting/ arguing a point' (SS) Winter Semester: 'Reporting/Summarizing' - focus on writing and listening skills - applying for a job: CV, letter of application - summarizing: memos, abstracts, reports - practicing listening skills (based on practice material from official examining institutions, e.g CAE, CPE, TOEFL, BEC3 type exercises) - building respective structural skills (mainly self-study) Summer Semester: 'Arguing a Point/Commenting' - focus on speaking and reading skills - the language of argumentation: prepared and spontaneous statements - the language of meetings and negotiations: chairing and participating - reading skills: texts from English speaking media (analyses, comments, reports) - buidling respective structural skills (mainly self-study)
