Zielsetzung / Purpose
The students - know the relationship between vision, mission statement, human resource strategy and human resource policy - are familiar with the HRM responsibilities of the line manag-ers and know the importance of a strategic orientation of HRM and its impact on business performance - gain a basic knowledge of the primary HR process func-tions: HR planning, HR recruitment, selection & induction, HR deployment, performance measurement, compensation & benefits and development - know selected methods and tools of the above mentioned HR process functions and can apply these knowledge to case studies - can situate the cross-sectional questions of personnel con-trolling, health & safety and diversity management in relation to other HR and business functions
Inhalt / Content
Human Resource Management course imparts the know-ledge of HR process functions. Specific tools, requirements and responsibilities for the HR work of line managers are com-piled. - strategic integration of HRM in the business context - responsibilities and organisational aspects of HRM; task sharing and cooperation between HRM and line managers - HR planning: job analysis, competence profile, job descrip-tion - HR recruitment process: selection tools and induction of new employees - HR deployment: designing tasks and management of work-ing time - Health & Safety - Compensation & Benefits - Performance measurement: performance evaluation, inte-gration with other HR processes - HR development: on- and off the job training, career plan-ning - International HR - the challenges of diversity
