Random experiments, definition of probability (based on classical theory and relative frequency method), outcomes and events, mutually exclusive and non-exclusive events, dependent and independent events, Bayes theorem, counting methods, simple, stratified, and cluster sampling methods
Descriptive statistics
Levels of measurement, discrete and continuous variables, absolute and relative frequencies, frequency tables and diagrams based on these, shape of distribution (symmetrical, positively and negatively skewed), numerical measures of location (mean, median, and mode), geometric mean, numerical measures of dispersion (range, mean absolute deviation, variance, standard deviation, coefficient of variation), empirical rule, Chebyshev's theorem, Pearson coefficient of skewness, quartiles, percentiles, box plots, identification of outliers
