This will enable students to fully participate academically or professionally in the field of architecture. Students will be introduced to multimedia resources to promote self-study and a lifelong use of the English language.LerninhalteThe four skills of reading, writing, listening and speaking as well as grammar and vocabulary will be revised and expanded upon.
Reading and writing: students will improve their skills by being exposed to a variety of technical and everyday English texts. They will produce a portfolio of written texts (reviews, summaries, compositions, etc.). In this semester, students will learn about unity and coherence in writing.
Speaking and listening: students will increase their confidence and fluency in managing spoken discourse in a variety of contexts, while being exposed to native and non-native varieties of English. In this semester, students will present to their peers on a technical subject. In addition, they will be required to critically evaluate a fellow student's presentation.
Grammar and vocabulary: students will learn technical terms related to architecture as well as preparing for working life. Modal verbs and past tenses will be revised.
