      Overview
The students know different additive process for polymer parts starting from different semi-finished products (powder, filament granulate), different processes like FDM, SLS, EDAM… They understand the dependency between component design and manufacturing possibilities of additive manufactured parts. They are able to design parts by applying the fundamentals of polymers to derive the significant process parameters and to apply them to specific applications. Introduction of different processes Fundamentals of polymer processing (material behavior during process, characterization methods, mechanical performance) Application of selected AM methods Cost assessment for AM parts Advanced AM methods for future applications
      Learning objectives
The students know the procedure to design and process additive manufactured parts. They are able to assess and compare the applicability of the individual manufacturing processes for a specific component from a technical and economic point of view.
